dda: DDA approves Rs 825 crore for development in Narela


The Delhi Development Authority has approved Rs 825 crore for development of industrial a residential township in Delhi’s Narela.

“To improve connectivity and other infrastructure in the area for enhancing overall development of Narela, Estimate Approval Committee (EAC) of DDA, has approved various development schemes at Sector G2 and G6, Narela,” DDA said in a statement.

Approved schemes include construction of 20-meter-wide road of about 10 kilometers at an approximate cost of Rs 50 crore, water supply lines for about Rs 27.5 crore, storm water drains for Rs 117 crore, sewerage schemes for Rs 23 crore, boundary wall for Rs 14 crore.

Provision of Rs 245 crore has been made for infrastructure charges for water supply and sewerage and Rs 138 crore for establishing Electric Grid Sub-Station for augmenting of electric supply, Rs 5 crore for street light and Rs 17 crore for Sewage Treatment Plant has also been provisioned.

“DDA is hopeful that these sectors of Narela shall be zero-waste. Narela is a priority area for development and DDA is committed to develop it on the lines of Dwarka,” the authority said in the statement.

In DDA’s annual budget 2021-22, a significant component of the expenditure was earmarked for Narela Sub-City Development. Allocations were made for transport infrastructure projects such as grant to DMRC towards construction of Phase -IV metro line for Rithala-Bawana-Narela corridor and construction of UER –II stretch in Delhi through NHAI.

Besides, DDA is undertaking various residential projects in Narela. In April this year, Flyover cum ROB was inaugurated in Narela to provide smooth connectivity between densely populated Narela and Bawana, which are upcoming Residential as well as Industrial hubs in North-West Delhi.
